James Franklin Conn, 71, of Hillside Convalescent Center, 233 University Ave., died of cancer Sunday at home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Conn was born in Indianola and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired truck driver and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Gipe of Des Moines and Penny White of San Francisco; a son, James L. of Waukee; a stepson, Jordan Trehy of Des Moines; and 21 grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
