Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 3-18-1987:

Avis D. Godlove, 69, a homemaker of Milo, died of cancer Monday, March 16, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 18, at Goodes Chapel Cemetery, southeast of Milo.

Mrs. Godlove was born in Beatrice, Neb., and had lived in Milo for 59 years. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Milo Christian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Max Edsel of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Allen Ted of Des Moines and Dennis Lee of Lacona; a sister, Betty Klein of Des Moines; a brother, William C. Rankin of Omaha, Neb.; and two grandchildren.

Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola was in charge of arrangements.
