Funeral services for Arlie Earl Bowlin, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bowlin, were held Monday afternoon at the United Presbyterian church.

Arlie, a junior in Indianola high school, died at a Chariton hospital early Saturday morning from injuries received when his car went out of control and struck a bridge on highway 65 five miles south of Lucas Friday at about 11:30 p.m.

Two of the other six occupants of the car were hospitalized for injuries. Bert Hickman, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hickman, is still in the Chariton hospital, but is not in serious condition. A rumor was circulated over the week end that he had died of his injuries. Helen Bales, 14, was released from the hospital Saturday.

Others occupants of the car were Verlie Douglas, 15, Donald Bowlin, 15, Ronald Bowlin, 16, and Bill Young, 16.

The group had attended a basketball game at Spring Hill and the boys were taking the girls home.
