Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 11-1-2005:

Services for Alan J. Overton, 46, who died Sunday, October 30, 2005, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Alan had worked for UPS receiving an award for 25 years of service.

Survivors include his children, Alicia and McKenzie Overton and Trevor Clatt, all of Indianola; his parents, Russell and Alta Overton of Indianola; sister, Roz Gugler of Salina, KS; niece, Deanna Overton of Des Moines; grandson, Daxsen Clatt and several other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Overton.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. The family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be designated in his name to be used to assist Indianola Youth Sports Activities.
