Obituary from The Winterset Madisonian newspaper, Winterset, Madison County, Iowa, USA on 6-19-2002:

Lois Eileen Breeding, 88, of Winterset died June 13, 2002, of complications of surgery at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Lois Breeding was born Aug. 24, 1913, to Glen and Myra (Harrell) Newton of Peru. She was a 1930 graduate of Winterset High School. On Aug 2, 1931, she married C. Farris Breeding in Bethany, Mo. A lifetime resident of Winterset, Lois, a homemaker, also was a former co-owner of Breeding's Hardware. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother.

She is survived by three sons, Wayne Breeding (wife Sharon) of Castle Rock, Colo., and Larry Breeding (wife Wilma) and Rick Breeding (wife Debbie), both of Winterset, a sister, Phyllis Lorton of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
