Raymond H. Hicks, 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at ManorCare Health Services in West Des Moines. A Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Raymond was born October 8, 1925 in Des Moines, IA to Forrest and Lucille (Backus) Hicks. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a letter carrier for the Des Moines Post Office. Raymond enjoyed gardening and carpentry work.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Jenell Hicks of West Des Moines; three sons, Craig (Juanita) Hicks of Des Moines, Chris (Lynda) Hicks of Austin, TX and Curte (Linda) Hicks of Grimes; four step-children, Tim Mumma of Denver, CO, Lisa Mumma of Des Moines, Andrew (Angela) Mumma of Adel and Mitchell Mumma of CO; eight grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Sally) Hicks of Des Moines and sister, Shirley Conner of West Des Moines.
