Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 1-21-2003:

Gerald M. Trotter, 81, of Indianola died of complications of a stroke Monday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial at Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery there.

Mr. Trotter was born in Warren County and had lived in Indianola most of his life. He had worked for Iowa Packing Co., Warren County Transportation and Simpson College. He was a handyman and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Indianola. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; a daughter, Marilyn Hoskinson of Winterset; a son, Gary of Martensdale; two sisters, Helen Goode of Indianola and Fern Glick of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Indianola Rescue.
