Eldon Floyd Blake, son of Grant and Naomi Blake, was born Oct. 4, 1891 in Marshall County near Marshalltown and died Dec. 30, 1965 in Des Moines at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 26 days.

When he was still a child the family moved to the Palmyra Community where he grew to manhood. He attended the Palmyra Methodist Church.

Nov. 9, 1912, in Indianola, he was united in marriage to Angeline Howe. Their home was blessed with five children: Guy, Margaret, Charles, Mary and Kenneth.

They first made their home on a farm in the Farmer's Chapel community where they lived for a number of years until 1929 when they moved to the Milo community, where they lived until 1935. They then moved to the Mt. Hope community west of Indianola where they lived until March of last year at which time they moved to Indianola.

He was a farmer all his life, doing general farming and raising Angus cattle.

He is survived by his wife, Angie of Indianola; his daughters, Mrs. Howard (Margaret) Clark of Des Moines, Ia., Mrs. Ernest (Mary) Cole of Indianola; his sons; Guy of Seattle , Wash., Kenneth of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Charles of Indianola; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Wilkerson of Des Moines, and Mrs. Stanley Gildow of Carlisle; four brothers, Roy of Hartford, Ia., Bryan of Des Moines, Herbert of Pleasantville, Ia., and Lewis of Indianola; a host of other relatives and friends.

A sister, Mrs. Lloyd bliss, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Glen W. Lamb Dec. 31 at the Overton Funeral Home. Interment was in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens.

Services for Eldon Floyd Blake, 74, who died at Mercy Hospital, Des moines, Thursday, were held at the Overton Funeral Home Friday afternoon. Interment was at Indianola I.O.O.F Memorial Gardens.

His family moved to the Palmyra community when he was a child, and he attended school there. Following his marriage to Angeline Howe in 1912, they made their home on a farm in the Farmer's Chapel community,. They also farmed near Milo and in the Mt. Hope community, moving to Indianola last March.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Howard Clark of Des Moines and Mrs. Ernest Cole of Indianola; three sons, Guy Blake of Seattle Wash., Charles Blake of Indianola, and Kenneth Blake of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ray Wilkerson of Des Moines, and Mrs. Stanley Gildow of Carlisle; and four brothers, Roy Blake of Hartford, Bryan Blake of Des Moines, Herbert Blake of Pleasantville, and Lewis Blake of Indianola.
