Lydia Grace Grate, 97, of West Des Moines, formerly of Des Moines, died Monday, April 3, 2006 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday April 5, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Family will be present one hour before services.
Mrs. Grate was born in Sandyville and worked for 39 years for Northwestern Bell retiring as chief operator. She was a member of Park Avenue Presbyterian Church and the Telephone Pioneer Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cox, and second husband Theron Grate; three brothers and four sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
