Norma Jean (Boyd) Renes, died at Taylor Hospice House Thursday, March 30, 2006, from complications of a brain tumor. Services were April 3 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Mrs. Renes was born Jan. 17, 1933 to Heath and Mildred (Clingenpeel) Boyd, grew up on the Des Moines eastside and graduated from East High School in 1951. She worked for the telephone company before marrying James Arthur Renes on Dec. 2, 1955.

She farmed, raised dogs and grew Christmas trees in rural Warren County with her husband. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, crossword puzzles and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her brother, Lyle Boyd; and her sisters, Judith Scott and Cindy Jacobs.

Survivors include her children, Jennifer Jean Middleswart and Tammi Rae Wooldsey, both of Indianola and Randy James of Panora; a brother, Vernon Boyd of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and three grandchildren.
