Zelma Bertrand, 81, of Indianola, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services were April 3 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines.

Mrs. Bertrand was formely of Madison County and graduated from Spring Hill High School.

She was employed at the munitions plant in Ankeny during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Gary of Lucas; two daughters, Rosalie Jean Bertrand of Des Moines and Ruth Ann Hall of Austin, Texas; a brother Wilbur Gordon of Missouri; two sisters, Luella Conner of Des Moines and Nancy Munyon of Altoona; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
