THARP, LUTHER, farmer, White Oak Township, Sec. 36; P. O. Sharon; born in Bartholomew county, Ind., May 26, 1831, and raised in Johnson county, where he was married Oct. 26, 1853, to Miss Susan w. Clark, who was a native of the same county; they came to Monroe county, this State, in 1855, and to this county in 1857; owns 184 acres of land, on which there is a fine orchard; their family consists of four children; Joseph H., Maggie B., Mary J. and James G.; lost two: Archibald g., died Sept. 10, 1867, and one infant.
