MOORE, HENRY M., carpenter, and joiner and contractor, Allen Township, Carlisle; is a native of this State, born in Louisa county, March 1, 1839; when six years of age his parents came to this county, and located on the present site of Carlisle; was two years with his father in the mill-wright business, and learned the carpenter's trade which he has followed for seventeen years; he married Miss Mahala J. Ellison, July 10, 1861, a native of Monroe county, Virginia; she died Jan 5, 1866; he married again to Phoebe Ellison, sister of his former wife, January 16, 1868.
