GATES, MARY A., farmer, Linn Township, Sec. 35; P. O. Lothrop; widow of Cyrus Gates, a native of Knox county, Ohio, born November 24, 1822, and died in May, 1873; Mrs. Gates, a native of Washington county, Pennsylvania, born April 11, 1835; was married to her husband in 1855, November 25th. Her maiden name was Mary A. Monasmith; they came to this county in December, 1855, she has a family of five children living; Leander, Brazil, Neta, Grant and Hoyt; has a farm of 224 acres.
