GARROW, ALEXANDER, farmer, Greenfield Township, Sec. 4; P. O. Des Moines; was born in Scotland, April 10, 1828, and came to America in 1847, and has lived, previous to his coming to this county, in New York, Ohio, Missouri, and Lee county, this State, where he was engaged in the railroad business; he came to this county in August, 1861; he was married in Lee county, in 1857, to Miss Alice Brown, a native of England; they have a family of four children, living: Herbert, Anna J., Caroline, Luemma, and one deceased, Mary; he owns an improved farm of 160 acres.
