CAVIT, GEORGE, farmer, West Washington Township, Sec. 11; P. O. Indianola; born in Allegheny county, Penn., in 1822; where he made his home till 1853, when he emigrated to Washington county, where he lived till 1865, when he came to this county, and located on his present homestead, which consists of 160 acres; he has been twice married, first, in Pennsylvania, in 1843, to Miss Jane McElhaney, of that State, who died in 1854, and left a family of three children, of whom two are now living: Nancy A. and George A.; he was married a second time in Ohio, in 1869, to Margaret Ross, of that State; they have by this union three daughters: Eva A., Elizabeth M. and Maggie L.
