From February 14th to April 18th, 1918, the Advocate-Tribune newspapers, Indianola, Iowa, included caricatures on the front page entitled “Indianola People You Know” with little bodies, big heads, and tiny images around each person recounting their lives.

[His caricature holds a bolt of cloth] Manager of the Leader Store, Indianola – one of a chain of 35 stores owned by F.W. Racine Co…..Born in Eldora, IA… Twelve years in the mercantile business, three years manager of a dry goods business at Sheldon, IA, two years in Clarinda in dry goods and Ready-to-Wear… He always has a fine garden, is fond of hunting, is a fan of baseball, and is “on pleasure bent” taking trips.
