GEORGE WASHINGTON WADE
George W. Wade, farmer of Carlisle, was born in Floyd county, Virginia, Sept. 8, 1885, the son of John M. and Polly (Dulany) Wade. His marriage to Minnie May Reed, daughter of Eli and Delilah (Boothe) Reed, took place Feb. 4, 1912. Mrs. Wade was born in Floyd county, Va., Jan. 23, 1887. Mr. and Mrs. Wade have three children: Iva Lee, born Feb. 6, 1913; Helen Lois, born June 13, 1914; Marjorie Lucille, born April 24, 1922.
Mr. and Mrs. Wade have spent all of their married life in Warren County, with the exception of one year when they lived in Hancock county. For the last 33 years they have lived on the farm, located one and one-half miles southwest of Carlisle, on which they now reside. Mr. Wade is fraternally affiliated with the Masons, and Mrs. Wade belongs to the Order of Eastern Star and the Rebekahs.
