HARLEY ANSON VANSYOC
Harley Van Syoc, retired farmer of Milo, was born at Knoxville May 4, 1877, the son of A. E. and Edna Van Syoc.
Aug. 21, 1901, Mr. Van Syoc married Addie Christabel Wellons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wellons. Mrs. Van Syoc was born near Hartford Dec. 25, 1881. The Van Syocs have 10 children living: Marvin Wellons, born Sept. 16, 1904; Stanley Aaron, born Nov. 28, 1908; Bertine (Davis), born April 13, 1906; Bessie (Peterson), born June 4, 1911; Edna Elizabeth, born Aug 26, 1913; Wayland Bryce, born May 8, 1916; Hazel (Threlkeld), born May 7, 1918; Esther (Roach), born Sept. 27, 1920; James Otley, born July 6, 1923; Willard Baird, born April 23, 1926. Two boys - Larry and Cecil - died in infancy.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Harley Van Syoc and all 10 living children are graduates of the Milo high school. The Van Syocs are members of the Christian Union church at Milo. Their political ties are with the Democratic Party.
