DWIGHT HOOBLER STEVENSON
Dwight H. Stevenson, Ford salesman of Indianola, was born at Numa July 2, 1897, the son of Joshua C. and Florence R. Stevenson. Following his graduation from high school he attended the State University of Iowa.
Sept. 7, 1920, Mr. Stevenson married Roma Marie Wyckoff, daughter of S. A. and Berta O. Wyckoff. Mrs. Stevenson was born at Cincinnati Aug. 8, 1901. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson are: Dwyta June, born June 29, 1922; Stanley Stuart, born Nov. 15, 1923; Joyce Marie, born Feb. 29, 1932. Stanley Stuart, flight officer in the United States air force during World War II, became a casualty of the war Dec. 13, 1944.
The Stevensons, who came to Indianola in 1927, now live in a country home about four miles north of Indianola on highway 65-69. Both Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson are active in community affairs. He is a member of the American Legion, Lions club and Garden club. He is a director of the Warren County Fair board. Fraternally he is affiliated with the Masons. During World War I he served in the reserve officers corp, Company G, Infantry, State University of Iowa. Mrs. Stevenson is a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Garden club and for several years served as a member of both the Indianola Planning Commission and the park board. She has given much time to the work of the Gray Ladies in voluntary service to the patients in veterans' hospitals.
