LESTER ROY McGINNIS
L. R. McGinnis, manager of Northwestern Bell Telephone company at Indianola, was born at Adel, Dallas county, Dec. 8, 1903. He is the son of William J. and Martha J. McGinnis. After completing elementary and high school at Adel, he studied business administration as a student of the extension division of the University of Chicago.
Aug. 17, 1929, he married Helen Bernice Curry, daughter of John M. and Jennie Curry. Mrs. McGinnis was born at Waukee, Dallas county, Jan. 16, 1903. Norma Diane McGinnis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McGinnis, was born April 16, 1936. Mr. McGinnis is a member of the Rotary club, the chamber of commerce, the Izaak Walton league and the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company Pioneers. He has been active in support of the American National Red Cross and other organizations. He is a member of the Methodist church. His political ties are with the Republican party. Mr. and Mrs. McGinnis live at 1100 North Howard, Indianola.
