WAYNE F. JONES
Wayne F. Jones, farmer at Wick, was born at Menlo March 24, 1899, the son of W. W. and Nettie (Foote) Jones. Following his graduation from high school, he attended Simpson and Iowa State college. On June 14, 1922, Mr. Jones married Winnifred Blessie Sinnard, daughter of W. T. and Ulda (Igo) Sinnard. Mrs. Jones was born at Indianola Jan. 27, 1899. Philip Wayne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jones, was born March 30, 1923.
Mr. Jones worked in the First National bank of Indianola from June, 1922, to January, 1928, when he moved to the farm at Wick, where Mr. and Mrs. Jones have lived since then. Mr. Jones has served on A.A.A. and corn sealing committees, and was a leader and chairman of 4-H club work in Warren County. From Jan. 1, 1942, to Jan. 1, 1947, he served as a member of the Warren County board of supervisors.
Mrs. Jones graduated from Indianola high school and Iowa State college. Prior to her marriage she was a teacher at Maquoketa. After moving to the farm she worked three summers with the extension service of Iowa State college as a food specialist. She was local 4-H club leader and served on girls' county 4-H club committee for 12 years, including two years as chairman. She was an accredited home economist judge for 25 years and served as food judge in the girls' 4-H club department at the Iowa State fair for 12 years. Mrs. Jones has worked as home economist in Marion county and as home supervisor for the Farmers Home administration. During World War II she was for three years principal and home economics teacher in the high school at St. Marys.
