MAURICE CONNOR HERRICK
M. C. Herrick, attorney at Indianola, was born at Gilmore City Sept. 12, 1912, the son of Rupert C. and Ingeborg (Gunderson) Herrick. After graduating from the Gilmore City high school, he attended the State University of Iowa where he received the degree of bachelor of arts in 1935. Two years later he graduated from the law school of the State University of Iowa with high distinction, and received the degree of juris doctor.
Dec. 24, 1934, Mr. Herrick married Pamela Flora Diemer, daughter of H. B. and Helena Jessie Diemer. Mrs. Herrick was born at Calumet, Mich., April 28, 1914. Mr. and Mrs. Herrick have four children: Peter B., born Aug. 20, 1938; Allan C., born March 29, 1941; Pamela Mary, born Sept. 3, 1945; Sarah Ann, born July 21, 1949.
From 1937 to 1939 Mr. Herrick was associated with the firm of Herrick and Langdon, Des Moines. From 1939 to 1944 he was attorney for the Iowa state insurance commissioner. During World War II he served with the U. S. army air force from February, 1944, to October, 1945. Since Oct. 1, 1946, he has been a member of the firm of Watson and Herrick, Indianola. He is presently county attorney of Warren County.
M. C. Herrick is a member of the Iowa State Bar association, the Warren County Bar association, the American Legion, Rotary International, and Order of Cois, an honorary legal fraternity. He has served as commander Warren County Post No. 165, American Legion, director of the Warren County Red Cross chapter, and as a member of the Y.M.C.A. committee for Indianola. His religious affiliation is with the Episcopalian church. In politics he is a Republican. Mr. and Mrs. Herrick live at 104 West Boston, Indianola.
