JAMES E. HATCHER
J. E. Hatcher, farmer and stock raiser of Virginia Township, was born on a Warren County farm Nov. 20, 1898, the son of William and Isabelle Eller Hatcher. He received his education in the schools of Virginia Township. In 1920 he started farming with his father and still lives on this farm at the present. J. E. Hatcher now has 50 head of purebred Angus cows on this farm.
Sept. 3, 1924, James E. Hatcher married Anna Marie Louise Franz. Mr. and Mrs. Hatcher are parents of four children: James Kenneth, Donald Ward, Mary Ruth and Richard Jene. Mr. Hatcher has participated in A.A.A. work, Farm Home administration, state committee and also Warren County F.H.A. He has been township assessor, on the school board and also a director of R.E.A. He was for a time chairman of the Agricultural Adjustment administration in Warren County— (A.E.S.)[written by Alden Edward Smalley]
