E. DUANE HANSELL
E. Duane Hansell, who operates a farm near Spring Hill, graduated from Iowa State college in 1927. He married Esther Marie Holmquist, daughter of Carl E. and Beda Holmquist, Oct. 23, 1937. They have three children: James Ray, born Jan. 24, 1939; Janet Karen, born Nov. 22, 1941; Richard Lee, born Sept. 6, 1945. Mrs. E. Duane Hansell was born in Marshall county May 28, 1913.
The two Hansells make up the firm of R. W. Hansell and Son, which has attained prominence as breeders of Spotted Poland China hogs. The younger Hansell was active in 4-H club work in his youth.
Both families belong to the Spring Hill Methodist church. R. W. Hansell is a member of the official board of the church, and he has also served as a member of the school board at Spring Hill for a number of years. The political ties of both families are with the Republican Party.
