HARRY J. GOODALE
Harry J. Goodale, farmer who lives north of Indianola, was born about five miles south of Indianola Oct. 11, 1878. His parents were H. C. J. and Eliza P. (Stearns) Goodale. His father was born on a farm in Rutland County, Vermont, Oct. 10, 1834, and his mother was born in Essex County, New York., in 1840. Harry J. Goodale attended the public schools and graduated from Indianola high school in 1896.
Dec. 20, 1899, Harry J. Goodale married Christina Hahn, daughter of Peter and Christina Hahn. Mrs. Goodale was born at Indianola Aug. 18, 1876. Mr. Goodale has engaged in farming since 1897. In 1905 he bought a farm two and one-half miles north of Indianola and moved onto it March 1. After 13 years there he sold the farm and bought the one across the road from it in 1918, where he has lived from that time until the present. He has been a member of the United Presbyterian church in Indianola since 1900. Politically he is a Democrat. Fraternally he is affiliated with the Modern Woodmen. Mrs. Goodale died July 29, 1951.
