WARREN COUNTY TRIPLE ALLIANCE CANDIDATES
John F. Wellons, nominee for sheriff, is a genuine Warren county product. He was born in 1856 at Hartford and raised here. He lived 8 years in Indiana and 4 years in Nebraska, but like so many others, concluded there is no place quite so good as Warren county, and except those 12 years has spent all his life in this county. Until 18 months ago his life has been that of a farmer. Then, to be nearer to a good school for his children, he moved to Milo, where he engaged in business and where he still lives. His life has not been one to bring him into public notice, and yet he has an extensive acquaintance among the farmers of the county as well as among the people generally of Hartford and Milo. He is a pleasant genial companion, with plenty of nerve for any emergency. He has the correct opinion that an office is a public trust and not a private snap. It is his sufficient commendation to say that where he is best known he is the strongest, and will poll the heaviest proportional vote.
