In Response To: Jesse Russell Johnson (Carroll Jenkins)

Here is what I have found so far. Most of this is based on census records and Wapello County records.

Jesse's father was William Johnson, born Jan 1849 most likely in Montgomery County, Ohio. His mother was Adaline M. (Addie) Turner born Jun/Jul 1853 in Pennsylvania. He had two sisters, Delana/Delania B. Johnson born abt 1876 in Wapello County and Fannie M. Johnson born abt 1872 in Wapello county. I can find no marriage records in Wapello county for either of the sisters.

William Johnson came to Agency township in the early 1850s. His father was also William Johnson and his mother was Anna _____. William Sr. was born abt 1810 in North Carolina and Anna was born abt 1810 in Pennsylvania. William Jr. had two sisters, Prescilla, born 10 Aug 1843 in Montgomery County, Ohio and Elizabeth, born abt 1847 probably in Montgombery County, Ohio

Maggie E. Young's parents were Thomas M. Young, born Aug 1852 in Indiana and Mary E. Hawk, born Jan 1860 in Clark County, Missouri.

Thomas' parents were James B. Young, born abt 1815 in Clark County, Indiana and Evaline Nugent, born abt 1806.

Mary Hawk's parents were Christopher Ezra Hawk born 11 Oct 1834 in Ohio and Minerva B. Hutton, born 31 Oct 1841 in Iowa. Christopher died on 26 Jul 1896 and Minerva died on 4 Jan 1911 - both are buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Martinsburg, Keokuk County, Iowa.

Maggie had two sisters, Eva M. Young, born Nov 1880 and Edna M. Young, born Jun 1882. I have not yet been able to determine if they were born in Wapello or Keokuk county and I can't find marriage records on either.
