The obit of May Peck West appeared in the Ottumwa Courier dated February 5, 1943. Its essential points are:

Born on March 19, 1868, the daughter of Jesse and Margaret Bowlin Peck.

Died on February 4, 1943 in Haines City, Florida. Buried in Ottumwa Cemetery.

Married on January 1, 1890 to J.B. West. (listed repeatedly as J.B. West not J.O. West)

Survivors include her husband, one son T.H. West of Miami, Florida and a sister Mrs. L.M. Campbell of Ottumwa. [NOTE: In the original announcement of her death, which appeared on February 4, Thomas H. West is listed as living in Richmond, Virginia]

Preceded in death by a daughter.

They must have lived in Sheridan, Wyoming at some point in time in that she is listed as a member of the chapter No.1, Order of the Eastern Star, Sheridan, Wyo.
