I don't know whether anyone has answered your query. I have never used this website before and am having trouble making anything work.

Lakonta was/is located in southwestern Mahaska County. Locally, it is primarily known as "Truax" but I have seen it on the map both ways. Lakonta/Truax had about 10 houses in it when I saw it last about 2 years ago. It was primarily a coal mining town. Other than that I know little about it. It was likely linked to Buxton as it is only a few miles from the old Buxton townsite. If you don't know of Buxton, it is a worthy subject to explore.

I know of no cemetery for the town, however, there may be one I'm not familiar with. There are 2-3 country cemeteries within a few miles of town.

I don't know anyone living in the town, but my mother lives about 8 miles away and in the same school district so I can probably get some local names if you want. Hope this is helpful.
