A few additional things.
It appears that Vivian Evelyn (Maring) Bowling died about 8 months ago. The Soc. Security Death Index lists a Vivian E. Bowling who died on 22 Jul 2002 at Fontana, San Bernadino County, California.
The history that I can find on the lineage of Estel is as follows:
Amos D. Bowling (born Jan 1838 in Ohio) married Mary Jane Kinsler (born Apr 1846 in Indiana) on 13 Dec 1866 in Davis County, Iowa. They had 9 children all born in Davis County, Iowa of whom 6 lived to maturity
Lottie Bowling, born abt 1867
James W. Bowling, born Oct 1869
Bettie Bowling, born abt 1877
Elbert H. Bowling, born July 1879
H. P. Bowling, born Nov 1882
Amos P. Bowling, born Jan 1884Amos P. Bowling married Celisha Myrtle _____ abt 1907/1908 probably in Davis County. They had 3 children:
Everett E. Bowling, born abt 1908
Kermit C. Bowling, born abt 1909
Estel P. Bowling, born 1911It appears that sometime between 1911 and 1920 Amos and Celisha were divorced. The 1920 Federal census for Davis County shows Amos is listed as divorced and living along with sons Everett and Estel (Kermit may have died) with Mary Jane (Amos' mother) in Davis County. Amos D. had apparently died sometime between 1910 and 1920 since Mary Jane is listed as widowed.
I am trying to connect this family of Bowlings to George W. Bowling (born Jul 1860 in Iowa) who also was living concurrently in Davis County. George is indirectly in my wife's line. George's father and Amos D. Bowling may be brothers, but I have not been able to make the connection - yet.
