I am attempting to locate ancestors/descendants of these two brothers, who married sisters. If you have any information or are researching these lines, I would appreciate hearing from you. These are my great great grandfathers.
Sanford V. ROSS, b. 11 Jan 1818, KY, d 21 Mar 1901, buried Brooks Cem., Ottumwa, married 17 Sep, 1840, Mary E. BROOKS, daughter of Thomas and Nancy (DOGGETT)
BROOKS, b. 22 Apr 1820, d. 16 Aug, 1899, buried Brooks Cem.
Children were: Nancy b. 1841; Vardamon b. 1843, married Sarah Lozania BOURNE, married 1880 Mary Elizabeth ROSS;
Absalom b. 1847; Thurman b 1848; Martha Susan, b. 1851 d. 1919, married 1872, Jerome Burke BROOKS; Virgil E., b. 1854,
d. 1929, married 1876 Susan Alice Haley, married 1884 Sarah C. MILLARD; Presley b. 1858; Delia; Lorena H., b. 1863, d.
1936, married George MILLARD.
Lewis Thurman ROSS, b. Apr 1824, KY d. 24 Sep 1878, buried Brooks Cem, married 11 Mar 1849, Shelbyville, KY, to Sarah BROOKS, daughter of Thomas and Nancy (DOGGETT) BROOKS; b. abt 1830, KY; d. 11 Apr 1880;
buried Brooks Cem, Wapello, married 11 Mar 1849, Shelbyville, KY. Children were: Permelia, b. 1850, d. 1876; Mary E., b. 1851, d. 1938; Phillip John, b. 1855, married 1875
Sarah Jane LAYNE; Jonathan Marshall, b. 1855, married 1878 Melissa A. MILLARD; Santford Washington b. 1858, d. 1906,
married 1882 Emeline MILLARD.
