Caroline Ellis died on 5 Sep 1930. J.L. Matson died on 13 Mar 1920 and Marion Matson died on 5 Mar 1926. I was able to find obituaries for Caroline Ellis and Marion Matson. The pages that might have contained the obituary for Joseph are missing from the libarary's copy of the microfilm. They may not exist. The text for the ones I could find are below.
From the "Ottumwa Courier" dated Monday, March 8, 1926.
MATSON FUNERAL
"Funeral services for Mrs. Marion Matson of Sanborn, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Pearl Davis, 310 North Washington street, conducted by Dr. Leonard A. Swisher of the First Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial was made in the Shaul cemetery.
Mrs. Matson died Thursday morning, March 4, at the home of her son, Allen Matson, at Sanborn. She is survived by the following daughters; Mrs. Alice Stewart of Ottumwa, Mrs. Frank McCloskey of Roads, Mrs. Charles Monockton of Hannibal, Mo., Mrs. Charles Hill of Prairie Grove, Ark., Mrs. Frank Carter of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Emma Zollinger of Mitchell, S.D., and sons Allen Matson and Melvin M. Matson of Sheldon."

MRS. CAROLINE ELLIS
"Mrs. Caroline Ellis, 89 years old, widow of G.W. Ellis and pioneer resident of this city died at a hospital in Grand Island, Neb. Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. She is survived by one son, John Matson of Ottumwa; three daughters, Mrs. Cora Austin of Moulton, Neb., Mrs. Leona Nelson of Chickasha, Okla., and Mrs. Gertie Z. Russell of Santa Cruz, Calif., one stepson, Ed Ellis of Ottumwa; one brother, Granville Logan of Cashmier, Wash,; one sister, Mrs. Anna J. Sabin of Nodaway, Iowa. The body will arrive Saturday night and will be taken to the Lester Jay funeral home, where the services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30. The services will be conducted by the Rev. H. Sears Thomson D.D. Interment will be made to the Shaul cemetery."
