Pioneer Woman of Wapello Co. dies at home of her daughter here

MRS. ELIZABETH B. (BERRY) WHITE, aged 80 years, died at 9:30 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, MRS. M.F. CHISMAN, 418 North Sheridan avenue.

MRS. WHITE and her husband, PAGE WHITE, were among the early settlers of this county. She was born in Zanesville, Ohio, July 10, 1837 and came to Iowa with her father's family when a girl of 12 years. They settled on a Mexican land grant twelve miles south of Ottumwa. She grew to womanhood, married, and raised her family in the vicinity of Hopewell.

Her husband died several years ago and the following children survive her: MRS. BELLE CCHISMAN of Ottumwa,Iowa, MRS. ELLA LOVE and ROBERT HENRY WHITE of Turlock,Cal; MRS IDA DOROTHY of Frazier Idaho;MRS ELLA BARTLETT of Hobart, Okla.; MRS. ELIZABETH MUSICK of Centerville,Iowa, FRANK M. and ALBERT M. of Foster, Neb.

Definite arrangements for the funeral have not been made but it will probably be held MOnday afternoon in the Hopewell church with the internment there.

Friends may view the remains this evening and Sunday at the Chisman home.
