Mrs C A Norwood died at her home in Eddyville, December 2, 1910; aged 57 years, 11 months and 14 days. Mary Elizabeth Kirfman was born December 18, 1852, in Putnam County, Indiana. Her parents John and Ida Kirfman came to Monroe county in 1854, settling on the old John G Sherrod place in Pleasant Twp. She was the oldest daughter in a family of 9, 5 boys and 4 girls, namely: Thomas, died in infancy in Indiana; William, died in the south during the Civil War; Anna, who also died during the war, Albert, who was killed in a RR accident in 1876; Henry Clay, who died in South Carolina in 1895.J C Kirfman, Mrs J C Grove, Mrs Lydia May. Her father died in 1879 in a mine accident and her mother died March 20, 1908. In February 1873, she was united in marriage to C A Norwood, and 3 children were born; Charley, died infancy; Birdsal Albert, died in Colorado November 11, 1901, and John Kirfman Norwood, residing west of Eddyville. In 1907 they moved to Eddyville, funeral services at the Adventist Church, burial family lot at Highland Cemetery.
