Sarah Harper was born Aug. 15th, 1816, near Zanesville, Ohio, and died Feb. 12th, 1910 at Eddyville, aged 93 years, 5 months, 27 days. In 1837 she moved from Ohio to Newport, Indiana, and there was married to Benjamin Gibbons. Living there until 1857, they moved to Givin, Iowa. Benjamin died here, May 16, 1870. There were 11 children born to this union, of which 8 survive her: Thomas Gibbons, Isabel White, Amelia E Milburn, Dorothy Miller, Lucinda Crill, Emaline Sims, Joseph and James Gibbons. She also leaves 3 brothers, Jacob Harper, Arch Harper and George Harper. Funeral sermon at M E Church.
