Mrs Martha A Beamer, died Monday October 24, 1910 at her home,, aged 74 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Martha Ann Martin, daughter of Stephen and Mattie Martin was born in Clinton county, Ohio, January 3, 1836. She united in marriage to Henry C Beamer in 1855 and they came west soon after, first settling in Appanoose county. When the Civil war broke out, Mr Beamer enlisted in the army, and Mrs Beamer went back to Ohio, when returning to Iowa after the war, they located near Bridgeport. Mr Beamer death came on April 19, 1893, allowing Mrs Beamer to move to Eddyville. They were the parents of 11 children, five of whom have precede her in death. The 6 who survive are Benton B Beamer, Brig F Beamer, Arthur C Beamer, Elmer E Beamer, Reuben M Beamer, Lettie, wife of Henry Schmidt. Deceased are Philip, Minner, Laura May, Hasty and Sarah, wife of Morna Fall. Martha was one of a family of 11 children, which only 3 survive. Deceased are Mrs Rachel Morris, Eli and Pop. David H., Elizabeth, Ed and Jahu. Along with Charles, Alfred and John Martin. Funeral services were at the M E church, remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Bridgeport cemetery.
