DEATHS
KIRKPATRICK - Wednesday, March 31, 1909, in Kansas City, Kas., Mrs. Margaret, widow of the late Robert Kirkpatrick at the home of her stepson J.D. Kirkpatrick.The remains will arrive in Ottumwa this evening and the funeral service will be held in the chapel at the Sullivan undertaking quarters Friday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. J.W. Pool will have charge of the services. The music will be in charge of Mrs. Harry Swenson and Mrs. John Hughes. Interment will be in the Shaul cemetery.
The pall bearers will be selected from the two G.A.R. posts as follows: Tuttle post, James King, L. Mott and G. Culbertson. Cloutman post, T.P. Spilman, A.H. Hamilton and W.H.H. Asbury.
The decedent was for many years a member of the Main Street Methodist Episcopal church and resided on Weller street in South Ottumwa. She had been a nurse during the civil war and was a very patriotic woman. It was her request before death that she be buried with the Stars and Stripes placed on the casket and that Cloutman and Tuttle posts, G.A.R. and Relief Corps attend her funeral.
