George Button rites Friday

Graveside services for George Gliese Button, 85, who died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hillside Manor in Ottumwa, will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Lockridge Cemetery, Lockridge, with the Rev. Lenwood Monte officiating. A memorial has been established to the Lockridge Cemetery. Friends may call as they desire of Behner Funeral Home.

Button was born June 3, 1902 in Lake Geneva, Wis. He married Beulah M. Arnold Oct. 2, 1948 in Chicago, Ill. She died April 15, 1967. He served in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 19, 1922 to Jan. 4, 1937 and for many years had installed elevators for Otis Elevators of Chicago. After retiring, he moved to Lockridge and the last few years he had lived in Fairfield, Mount Pleasant and Ottumwa.

Surviving are a stepdaughter, Pauline Bullock, Chicago, Ill., several nieces and nephews.
