A. Fletcher dies at 52

OTTUMWA - Alice Fletcher, 52, native of Jefferson County and a longtime resident of Ottumwa, Died at 2 a.m. Sunday at Sunnyslope Care Center in Ottumwa.

Mrs. Fletcher was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mickey, Lockridge.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Baptist Church at Ottumwa with the Rev. Donald Ripley officiating. Interment will be in Shaul Cemetery. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.

Alice Fletcher was born July 11, 1925, at the Jefferson County Hospital, 1025, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. She was the daughter of Clarence and Birdie Pence Mickey.

Her marriage to Ellsworth Fletcher took place May 29, 1947, in Ottumwa.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fletcher is survived by a daughter, Sandy, and a son, Jim, both at home; and a brother, C.O. Mickey, Vancouver, Wash.

She was a longtime employee of the Wapello County Department of Social Services. The family home is at 631 Hamilton in Ottumwa.
