Frank Skinner, 75, died at 4:10 a.m. today at his home, 527 North Weller street. He was born April 11, 1869, in Wapello county, the son of Benton and Sarah Skinner, and had lived his entire life in this county. He spent his early years as a rural schoolteacher but resigned in 1900 and began farming. He left the farm in 1920 and moved to Ottumwa and was employed by the John Morrell & Co. retiring from that work three years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Helen Skinner and the following children: Miss Nellie Skinner, at home, Mrs. Margaret McCormick and Charles Skinner both of South Gate, California; Clarence Skinner and John Francis Skinner, both of Ottumwa. He is also survived by the following brothers and one sister, Mrs. Millie Rime and Jess Skinner, both of Los Angeles: Harry Skinner, Des Moines, Edward Skinner, Rockford Illinois, and Charles Skinner, Bloomfield. The body will be removed to the home Tuesday afternoon from the Vaughan funeral chapel, with funeral arrangements to be announced later.
Funeral services for Frank Skinner who died Monday morning at this home 537 North Weller street, will be held at 8:30 Thursday morning at the home and at 9 o’clock at St. Patrick’s Catholic church, where a requiem high mass will be celebrated by the Rev. R.C. Donohoe. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, and members of St. Patrick’s church will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Skinner home to recite the rosary.
