John E. Harsch, Carpenter, Dies
John E. Harsch, 62, local carpenter, died at 5 p.m. Tues at his home 416 North Jefferson street, following and extended illness. A lifelong resident of Ottumwa, he was born December 14, 1881, the son of Jacob and Louise Harsch. He was a member of A.F.&A.M., No. 269. Survivors include his wife Retta; a son. Sergeant George H. Harsch of Camp Howe, Texas, and sister Mrs. Anna Cornell, Ottumwa, route 6.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the home conducted by the Rev. Theodore Leonard D.D. of the First Methodist church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Masonic lodge. The casket will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel unitl 9:30 a.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the residence.
