Native Of Wapello County Dies At 80
Mrs. Amanda Pitts, 80, died at 11:30 a.m. today at her home in Chillicothe. She was born in 1863, near Blakesburg and lived almost her entire life in Wapello county. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Pitts in 1937. She is survived by two daughters. Mrs. Rosa Pierce of Lynnville, Tennessee, and Mrs. Dorothy Palmer of Chillicothe, two sons, Lloyd Pitts of Emporia, Kansas and Edward Kelsey of Chillicothe a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The body was removed to Johnson’s funeral home to await the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Pitts who died Thursday morning at her home at Chillicothe will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson funeral chapel. The service will be in charge of the Rev. L.E. Welshons and burial will be in Blakesburg cemetery.
