Mrs. Gertrude Elkins, 52, wife of Elza Elkins, former Ottumwan, died in a Wichita, Kansas hospital at 8 p.m. Tuesday. She had lived in Ottumwa practically all her life until they moved to Wichita two years ago. She was the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Findley. Mrs. Elkins is survived by her husband; a son, Corporal Charles Gilbert Elkins, in the Army; a grandson, Charles Gilbert Elkins Jr. a brother, Charles Findley of Wichita, a half-brother, Edgar Hooper of Wichita, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Alice Alexander of Wichita and Mrs. Suzie Bobst of Long Beach, California. The body was to arrive in Ottumwa at 3:21 p.m. today and was to be taken to the Johnson funeral chapel, awaiting completion of arrangements of services.
Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Elkins, former Ottumwan who died Tuesday evening in Wichita, Kansas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. Charles Albin of the Brethren church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
