Nathan Widner,70, of Eldon and formerly of Blakesburg, died here at the St. Joseph’s hospital at 2 p.m. Tuesday. He was the son of Melvin and Susan Widner and was born January 18, 1874, in Keokuk county. Surviving are his wife, Editha; one son, Walter Widner of Eldon, and four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Ratliff, Ottumwa, route 2, Mrs. Nellie Williams, San Diego, California, Mrs. Loren Schindler, Pulaski, and Mrs. Berta Elwood, Louisville, Kentucky. Twelve grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a brother Thomas Widner of Clinton and two sisters also survive. Four children who died in infancy preceded him in death. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Nathan Widner of Eldon, who died Tuesday at the St. Joseph hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Frida at the Johnson funeral home. The Rev. R.C. King will have charge of the service and burial will be in Competine cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
