Rosa Winter, 83, Called By Death
Miss Rosa Winter, 83, of Ottumwa route 1, died at 1p.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph hospital. She was born February 27, 1861, the daughter of Peter and Catherine Winter, and spent her entire life in this community. She is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Margaret Elliott of Ottumwa route 1, a granddaughter, Michel Ross, Ottumwa route 1, and a cousin Miss Cecilia Bauer of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Vaughan funeral home and at 9 o’clock at the Sacred Heart church, where a requiem high mass will be celebrated by the Rev. J. H. Courtney. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery. Members of the Altar and Rosary society will meet at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel to recite the rosary.
