Reed (Dick) Steel, about 72, of Minneapolis died Monday at his home in Minneapolis after a short illness, according to word received here. He lived in Ottumwa until about 40 years ago. He was born in Illinois and came to Wapello county as a child. He was married about 1906 to Miss Julia A. Payne of Ottumwa. He survived by his wife; two sons, John of Chicago and Herbert of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Adam and four sisters, Mrs. McCance, Mrs. Waters, Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Lamb, who were all Ottumwa residents. Funeral services will be at the Vaughn funeral chapel, probably Tuesday and burial will be at Calvary cemetery here.
Funeral services for Reed (Dick) Steele, who died Monday at Minneapolis, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Vaughan funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. James H. Courtney. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery. The body arrived here Tuesday evening.
