Mrs. Sarah Jane Hollems, 80, died at the Wapello county hospital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. She was born April 17, 1864, at Stiles, the daughter of Bivan and Minerva Powers. She had been a resident of this community for 18 years. Her husband Al Hollems preceded her in death. Several nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson’s chapel, Dr. Theodore H. Leonard of the First Methodist church in charge. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.
