Hedrick- Charles F. Miller Sr. 91, died at his home at 1:40 a.m. today after about two weeks illness. He was born in Oldenburg, Germany, May 6, 1853, and came to Illinois when 16 years old. He came to Iowa 37 years ago and had lived in and around Hedrick ever since. He was a retired farmer. He leaves his wife, Lizzie Marie; five sons, Charles D. of Farson, Herman at home, Henry at Fremont, John of Batavia, Louie of Hedrick; seven daughters, Mrs. Harry Koester of New Holland, Illinois, Mrs. D.F Buse of Mason City, Illinois, Mrs. Adolph Johnson of Hedrick, Mrs. Fred Heitzman of Fremont, Mrs. Fred Shafer, of Farson, Mrs. Richard Fox of North Hollywood, California and Mrs. Leonard Rosenboom of Ottumwa; 32 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Hedrick in charge of the pastor from Burlington. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery at Ottumwa. The body will be taken to the Miller home Thursday morning from the Community funeral parlors at Ottumwa.
