Mrs. Nellie Mae Harry, 55, of 116 South Union street, a lifelong Ottumwa resident, died at 6:15 a.m. today at the University hospital in Iowa City after and extended illness. The daughter of Wesley and Melissa Twedell, she was born in Ottumwa December 24, 1889. Her husband Frank A. Harry died February 1, 1943. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Pierson, Albia, and Mrs. Georgia Funk and Mrs. Virginia Toms, both of Ottumwa, a son, Private Donald H. Harry stationed in England, two grandchildren, Jane A. Toms and Deanna J. Funk; four brothers, Sam and Dan Twedell, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Bob and George Twedell both of Ottumwa, and a sister, Mary S. King of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of the East End Presbyterian church. The body is being brought to Ottumwa and will be taken to the Lester Jay funeral home pending completion of arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Mae Harry who died Wednesday morning, will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Lester Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. Edward D. Boyd, pastor of the East End Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers will be Albert Johnson, Donald Cox, Edward Streeby, Louis Schaub, Sidney Redman and Joe Fisher.
